Who is affected?

Women born on or between 6 October 1942 and 5 July 1950

Women born on or between 6 October 1942 and 5 July 1950 may now be able to pass on a maximum of 60% to 90% of their SERPS pension to their husband. This is phased as follows:

Women born on or between 6 October 1942 and 5 October 1944
Your husband will be entitled to inherit a maximum of 90% of your SERPS entitlement.

Women born on or between 6 October 1944 and 5 October 1946
Your husband will be entitled to inherit a maximum of 80% of your SERPS entitlement.

Women born on or between 6 October 1946 and 5 October 1948
Your husband will be entitled to inherit a maximum of 70% of your SERPS entitlement.

Women born on or between 6 October 1948 and 5 July 1950
Your husband will be entitled to inherit a maximum of 60% of your SERPS entitlement.

Find out how much State Pension you will have earned so far, and how much we expect your State Pension to be when you reach State Pension age by requesting a State Pension forecast. This forecast will include your own SERPS pension.
