In April 2004 the Department for Work and Pensions announced The Pension Service Partnership Fund, aimed at community, voluntary and not for profit organisations throughout England, Scotland and Wales.
The scheme offered short-term funding for initiatives that increase the take-up of benefits by older people – particularly the vulnerable and those in 'hard to reach' groups. The Department for the Environment, Fisheries and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) also contributed to the Fund for initiatives targeted at deprived rural areas of England.
The response to the Fund was excellent, with 740 applications received before the closing date of 30 June 2004.
Around 170 contracts were offered and accepted. These are listed on this page. All schemes are now operational.
The Fund is a finite resource for the two-year period 2004/05 and 2005/06. There will be no further bidding round.
We would like to thank all those organisations that submitted an application. There were many excellent proposals and we now look forward to working
with those that have been awarded a contract.
