Bus pass changes mean free trip for two friends

Two women, from Yorkshire and Lancashire, have set off on a bus trip across England this week. The friends decided to use their bus passes to travel by local bus services from Berwick-Upon-Tweed to Land’s End, visiting friends as they go along.

The recent changes to bus passes for over 60s mean that if they use local bus services all the way, their trip will be completely free. People who are over 60 or eligible disabled can now travel off-peak on local bus services for free anywhere in England. In Wales and Scotland people over 60 can already travel free at any time on any local service.
