Lift your way to younger muscles

Research recently published by the Scientific Journal PLoS One has shown that twice weekly trips to the gym can give you younger muscles.

In the study around 25 adults over the age of 65 were given twice-weekly hour-long training sessions for six months. The results were then compared to participants between 25 and 35 years old.

Before the study the over 65 year old group were 59 per cent weaker than the younger group, but after the sessions they were only 38 per cent weaker. The muscle tissue was also sampled and it had become as active as the tissue of the younger adults.
