Return of the savings habit
2007 is set to be a year for savings. The amount of money held in savings accounts is expected to exceed £1 trillion this year. The saving ratio is forecast to increase to 6.2% from 5.9% by the end of the year as household spending rises more slowly than income growth.
If you want to save more in 2007 you could look into an employer or personal pension. If you already have a personal or employer pension there are many other ways to save for your retirement.
