Pensions Commission releases new report on Pension Reform
The Pensions Commission, chaired by Lord Turner, has published their second report into the future of UK pension policy.
The Pensions Commission was established in December 2002 as an independent body to keep under review the regime for UK private pensions and long term savings. In its first report the Pensions Commission estimated that nearly 10 million people of working age are not saving enough for their retirement. The Second Report of the Pensions Commission sets out the conclusions on the likely evolution of the UK pension system if policy is unchanged, and recommendations for a new policy direction.
To have your say on how pensions may be reformed, you can participate in the National Pensions Debate. The debate is about options for reform and how to provide in the future for the growing number of people in retirement.
